Working on an interior designer's own home is always a daunting task, and this project for Amelia and Andrew at Hove was no exception. Both Amelia, the designer, and Andrew, the builder, have an exceptional eye for detail and maintain very high standards, which set the bar high for the entire project.
For most of the house, we utilised Polytec Sussex thermolaminated doors, renowned for their durability and sleek appearance. The island and its elegant curves posed a unique challenge, as we had to recreate the profile in 2-pack paint. This intricate task was incredibly rewarding, resulting in a stunning centrepiece for the kitchen. Integrated fridges, a feature growing in popularity, were seamlessly incorporated into the design, ensuring a clean and cohesive look throughout the kitchen space.
The walk-in pantry is a highlight, featuring warm LED lighting that creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere. Ample storage solutions make this pantry not only beautiful but also highly functional, catering perfectly to the needs of a busy family of four. The thoughtful design extends to the cabinetry, with careful consideration given to the placement and accessibility of each storage area.
In the three bathrooms, we focused on maximising drawer space. By creating voids for the plumbing, we eliminated the need for unsightly internal cutouts, maintaining a clean and sophisticated look. This approach allowed us to provide plenty of storage without compromising on aesthetics, ensuring that each bathroom is both functional and visually pleasing.
The walk-in robe is another standout feature, offering an abundance of drawers and ample hanging space. One of the most convenient features is the laundry chute, providing a seamless solution for dirty clothes to go straight to the laundry room. This thoughtful addition highlights the attention to detail and commitment to practical design that is evident throughout the home.
The laundry room itself is a storage haven, featuring an array of cabinetry designed to meet the family's needs. A beautifully hand-crafted timber hanging rail adds a touch of elegance and charm, a small but significant detail that the client absolutely loved. This combination of style and functionality ensures that the laundry room is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
Throughout the entire project, the collaboration between Head Interiors and Buildable was crucial. Their shared commitment to quality and innovation ensured that every aspect of the home was meticulously planned and executed. The result is a home that not only meets but exceeds the high standards set by Amelia and Andrew, providing a space that is both beautiful and functional.
